You all know that old story about waiting for a Corporation bus, well, something very similar happened on the Games circuit recently.
First, Vlad Tulacek, holder since 2025 of the RSHGA World record height in this event set a new record of 18 feet exactly at Halkirk on 25th July but this may have been one of the shortest lived records in recent memory.
Seven days later at Aboyne, America’s Burger Lambrechts achieved an incredible 18 feet and 2 inches in the same discipline. The weights from both meetings have now been certified by Aberdeenshire Council’s Weights & Measures Team so the new record is now “official”. Congratulations to both and especially to Burger on his epic achievement.
